Hydrangeas come into their own in summer when their flowers heads fill the shaded areas of your garden with colour. When we receive our first deliveries of hydrangeas in November we are always delighted with their quality and colour.
Traditional hydrangea colours are blue, white, or pink. Other colour varieties now include purple, red, lilac, and a recent variety called “Toffee Apple” which has green flowers with red tips. Delicious! Other varieties to look out for are Tea Time, Chique, Charm and You & Me Forever.
Hydrangeas prefer a spot shaded from the summer sun, and a good drink on hot days. They display well in a vase and their dried flower heads are currently enjoying popularity in long-lasting floral displays in the home.
